Why? As Catholics, we believe the Mass is prayer in its highest form, "the source and summit of the Christian life (CCC 1324). It's not about what we get out of Mass, it is about what we offer, which is praise and thanksgiving for all God has done for us. Jesus comes to us, fully present, in the form of bread and wine, which we consume, and He dwells within us to provide the strength we need for the journey of this life.
What to expect? If you haven't gone to daily mass before, it will look and feel a bit different than Sunday. Think of it as a simpler form of Sunday's celebration. The liturgy itself lasts only about 30 minutes instead of an hour, and that's because there are fewer readings and the responses are typically spoken, not sung. Music is much simpler, with songs being sung acapella instead of with piano or organ accompaniment. You'll also notice that attendance is typically very small, but don't let that deter you. Consider it an opportunity to give Jesus your full and undivided attention.
