Why?  We are all called to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28: 19-20) and to share the good news.  If others enjoy spending time with your family, it's likely because the light of Christ is shining from within each of you and they are attracted to it.  Why not invite them to join you?  By doing so you're showing compassion and your desire for them to live life to the full and in the light of Christ.  
 
What to expect?  Inviting another person or family to Mass with you may cause you to grow in the knowledge of your Catholic faith.  Sitting in the pew with someone new to the church gives each of us a fresh perspective.  It's easy to take the beauty of the Mass for granted and get caught in a series of robotic motions...make the sign of the cross, sit, stand, kneel, repeat!  To an outsider, it may look like a game of charades.  But in truth, it is an opportunity for us to explain why we do what we do; or if we don't know the reason behind it, to find out, thus growing in our own knowledge, understanding, and appreciation for the beauty that is our Catholic faith.
